What it is
Warm wax is applied to the upper lip and removed quickly, taking fine or coarse hair with it. It is a short appointment, and the skin stays smooth much longer than it does after shaving.

How long does hair need to be for waxing?
About a quarter of an inch, roughly the length of a grain of rice. Shorter than that and the wax has little to hold on to.
How long does waxing last?
Usually a few weeks. The hair is removed from the root, so it takes much longer to grow back than after shaving.
